Terms of Service

1. About Leatly

Leatly is a news reader that lets you subscribe to feeds and read updates in an algorithm-free environment (the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not verify age. If you are under 16, you must not create an account or use the Service.

3. Accounts and security

You may use Leatly without registering, or you may create an account using email/password or Google/GitHub OAuth. If you use the Service with an account, you agree that:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and account access.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You will notify us at contact@leatly.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend access to protect your account or the Service if we detect suspicious activity.

4. Plans

Leatly may offer multiple plans (anonymous use, free accounts, and Pro). Features and limits may differ by plan and may change over time.

We may introduce, modify, or remove features, limits, or plans at any time. If a change materially affects paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Access or use the Service in any unlawful manner or in violation of applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or bypass rate limits or security measures.
• Use automated means to create accounts, submit large volumes of requests, or otherwise place unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Use the Service to republish, redistribute, or build a commercial aggregation product from third-party feed content, except to the extent such use is permitted by the relevant publishers and applicable law.
• Use the Service to bypass paywalls, access restrictions, or licensing terms of third-party publishers.

We may apply technical restrictions (including rate limits) to protect the Service and other users.

6. Third-party content (feeds)

Leatly fetches and displays content made available by third-party publishers via RSS/Atom feeds. We do not create, own, or control that content. Publishers are responsible for their feeds and the accuracy, legality, and licensing of the content they provide.

We display feed-provided metadata/snippets and link to the original content. Full content is available on the publisher’s site.

If you are a rights holder and believe that a feed should be removed from fetching/caching, contact us at contact@leatly.com with sufficient details (feed URL and reason), and we will review the request.

7. Sharing links

If you generate a share link, you are responsible for what you share. Anyone with the link may be able to view and/or import the shared data. You should treat share links like access tokens and only share them with people you trust.

We may revoke share links or disable sharing if we believe it is being abused.

8. Pro subscription (billing, cancellation)

If you subscribe to Pro, you authorize recurring billing through Stripe. Prices may be displayed exclusive of VAT and VAT may be added where applicable.

• You can cancel at any time. After cancellation, Pro remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• If payment fails or is reversed, we may downgrade, suspend, or terminate Pro features.
• Refunds are generally not provided, except where required by applicable law or where we decide otherwise in our sole discretion.

Consumer rights note: If mandatory consumer protection rules apply to you (for example, EU distance-selling rules), those statutory rights are not excluded by these Terms.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Leatly reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, change features, or suspend the Service at any time.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account through the app (if available for your account type).

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (including accounts) at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms, abused the Service, created risk for other users, or for operational/security reasons.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no guarantees regarding third-party feed availability, accuracy, or completeness.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pellet Kristóf EV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenues, or business opportunities arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or €10 if you have not paid anything).

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Pellet Kristóf EV harmless against claims and liabilities arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read it.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and applicable EU law. Courts in Hungary shall have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your place of residence require otherwise.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
